Massage Therapy to Feel Relaxed and Revived
Massage is basically the gentle manipulation of the soft tissue of the body. It may be done with hands, fingers, thumbs, elbows, feet, forearms, hands or even a machine. The common purpose of massage is usually for the relief of pain or body tension. This type of therapeutic massage also helps to stimulate the lymphatic system and the immune system.
Swedish Massage: Swedish Massage utilizes the long, gentle strokes of Swedish massage. The strokes are performed by a person who is either a professional masseuse or by a client receiving the massage. Swedish massage uses massage oils and creams in a warm oil bath. There are three types of Swedish massage; the deep tissue massage, the lymphatic massage and the superficial massage.
Deep tissue massage: This is also known as the stepper massage and it uses slow circular, sweeping movements that penetrate the deepest layers of muscles and connective tissues to release tension and stress. The deep-tissue massage has been used for years to treat stiffness and soreness. This type of massage provides very deep muscle penetration and therefore can be quite soothing. This kind of Swedish massage can be performed in an office environment or at home.
Kneading: Kneading or finger-tapping is a massage technique that is often associated with shiatsu massage but can also be done on your own. It utilizes gentle pushing, rubbing and sometimes twisting motion to stimulate muscles. The idea is to get into the "bulk" or "grasp" of a muscle group by gently pressing into it with the fingertips. Some people find kneading stressful, but it doesn't have to be. A great way to relieve the stress of your day is to make an appointment with a massage therapist and do a little kneading.
Shiatsu Massage: Shiatsu is an ancient form of 스웨디시 that utilizes finger pressure, acupressure and other traditional techniques to relieve tension and stress from your body. When properly done, it can promote relaxation and increase blood circulation. By applying steady pressure to specific areas of your body, your therapist will help to release muscle spasms and reduce stiffness of the muscles. Shiatsu therapists usually start out by applying light pressure to the larger muscles and gradually working their way down.
Trigger Point Massage: Trigger point massage is another method that uses the same finger pressure, acupressure and other traditional massage methods. Again, when properly done, it can promote relaxation and increase blood circulation to the muscles. You'll feel a lot more relaxed and not like you just went to sleep. When applying this form of massage, it's important that the therapist applies the right pressure to each individual spot. If they apply too much pressure, it might have the opposite effect and actually cause you pain instead of relaxation.
Deep Tissue Massage: In this massage type, the therapist uses their fingertips to touch and penetrate deeply into the muscles massaged. They might use a roller or their fingers. It might seem like a strange method to get a better blood flow but it works! The deep tissue massage has been shown to stimulate the production of new white blood cells in the area. This increased white blood cells are key to healing and recovery.
As you can see, there are many different massage therapy techniques that can be used to feel relaxed and revitalized. It's important to find a masseuse that you trust and get on with for at least 30 minutes. Remember, your massage therapy session doesn't have to be a long, drawn out process. It can be comfortable, quick and easy! Your body and your health should always be the first priority.
